The actor will be reprising his role as the Jedi master for a new Disney+ show that bridges the gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

But thanks to technological upgrades, Ewan admits he is looking forward to this go as Obi-Wan much more than the first time.

He told ACE Universe: “I’m just going to enjoy it all much more. [The prequels were] quite technically complicated, I remember. It was all blue screen and green screen.

“It was hard to imagine it. But nowadays, things have moved on so much and I think a lot of what you see is going to be what we see on the set… I think it’s going to feel realer for us, the actors.

“I don’t know if you’ve seen any of the behind-the-scenes Mandalorian series, but they employ tht incredible screen and I don’t even begin to know how it works, but it’s pretty amazing.

“So when you’re on set, if you’re in a snowscape or something, well when you look around you see that and it makes you feel like you’re in the place. It’s going to be realer for us.”

Fans can get a glimpse at the way Disney filmed the popular Star Wars series in their behind-the-scenes show.

Ewan played the character in The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005).

When discussing names for the untitled show, Ewan suggested “Hello There” as his favourite option – in reference to the famous line from his last prequel film.

The series is set to begin filming early next year.
